Shure KSM44A/SL Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone

The Shure KSM 44 SL is a multiple pattern, side address condenser microphone designed for vocal and general instrument capturing. The microphone can be used in both, recording and live sound applications. The microphones patterns are cardioid, omni-directional and figure eight (bi-directional). Omni-directional provides a generous pick up pattern while cardioid effectively attenuates off-axis noise. The bi-directional pattern is convenient for recording multiple vocalist or stereo ambiance recording.

The capsule features an ultra-thin, gold-layered, low mass, Mylar diaphragm for excellent transient and frequency response. Class A, transformer-less preamplifier circuitry eliminates cross-over distortion and noise on output. A switchable low-cut filter effectively eliminates low frequency noise due to hum, mechanical noise, excessive low-end response etc. Also featured is a 15dB attenuation switch, increasing Sound Pressure Level handling when miking sources high in transient signal reproduction such as horns, drums and percussion.
